How to attach the Balconie to your railing: step-by-step installation

The installation of the Balconie is one of its greatest qualities: it takes less than five minutes, requires no tools, and leaves no marks on the railing. Here's how to do it.

Many people expect a complicated installation. The reality is the opposite. The Balconie's fastening system was designed to be immediately understandable, reversible, and compatible with the vast majority of existing railings.

What you need

Strictly nothing, apart from the Balconie itself. No drill, no screws, no anchors, no glue. The hook system supplied with the product is all you need.

Check your railing's compatibility

The Balconie adapts to the vast majority of standard railings: round or flat metal bars, square railings, horizontal painted steel bars, treated wood railings.

Cases where installation may be tricky: glass railings without a metal frame, very thick guardrails (more than 8 cm wide at the top), and very atypical shapes. In these cases, it's best to contact Extra Terrasse before ordering.

Step-by-step installation

The Balconie is placed on the railing from above. The screws are placed on each side of the top bar of the railing and tightened manually to secure the Balconie in place. Adjustment is done by hand, without tools. A slight outward tilt is normal and desired: it allows rainwater to flow to the outside of the balcony. Once in place, test the stability by gently pressing on the edges. If the Balconie moves, tighten the hooks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Balconie fall?

No, if the hooks are properly tightened. The system is designed to support the weight of objects placed on it and resist common vibrations. However, avoid leaning on it with your full weight.

How do I maintain it?

Cleaning it occasionally with clear water and a cloth is sufficient. The powder coating is very resistant to bad weather and does not fade under the effect of UV rays.

Can it be left outside in winter?

Yes, without any problem. Powder-coated steel withstands frost, snow, and temperature variations. No winter treatment is necessary.

Can it be easily moved?

Yes. The Balconie can be unhooked and moved in a few seconds, leaving no trace on the railing. Practical for transporting it to another balcony or reorganizing the space according to the season.

In summary

Five minutes, no tools, no modifications to your home. The Balconie's installation is intentionally simple and reversible. Once installed, it is stable, durable, and can be removed or moved at any time as needed.
