It's the balcony table that's all the rage on Instagram (and that we didn't know we needed), Sara Barragán Del Rey, May 28, 2024
You have a balcony and you can't set up a table there, but you would like to take advantage of this mini outdoor space. We found the ideal accessory: the French table from Extra Terrasse which is all the rage on Instagram.
The Extra Terrase balcony table has already become a viral phenomenon: it keeps appearing on Instagram.
No wonder it's taking Instagram by storm and stealing the hearts of design lovers: the Extra Terrasse small table is the accessory that every balcony in the world needs. A mini table so versatile and minimalist that it was born to be the centerpiece when it comes to optimizing balconies and transforming them with style. If you don't have it yet, take a look because you will fall in love with it.
The jewel that conquered the world
We could define it as a piece that encapsulates many contemporary design trends: versatile, resistant, elegant and minimalist. Made with high quality materials, it is also weather resistant. Its folding structure allows it to be easily stored when not in use and its versatile nature makes it a multifunctional piece. You can adjust it to different heights and transform it into an outdoor breakfast table, a workspace, a reading nook or a shelf for your favorite plants.
The design is French and is the work of an enterprising and certainly very practical spirit. Architect Félix Miquel launched his own business in 2019 by creating his first table. “The idea was to attach a small shelf to an urban pole,” he explains on his website. And this is how his company was born, in which he always offers products designed to be used with existing furniture, in the case of the table, the balcony railing. To make them, he uses as few materials as possible and has always opted for the use of reclaimed wood.
A startup that emerged during the pandemic
After being cooped up during the covid-19 pandemic, his mind began to wander. There was a compelling need to utilize the outdoor spaces we had at home. As small as they were, they allowed us to escape. This is how he created the small miniature table that made him successful. “I quickly understood that there was a demand. I had to create the offer. Small problem: I have nothing, almost no machines, no workshop and only my hands to produce,” he admits. With his own hands and from home, he started working on a balcony table. She first appeared in the media, then she increased her production and finally launched this start-up, which today sells products made in France from steel and recycled wood.
“After making a wooden balcony table in 2021, I decided to create a new one in steel, which attaches to all the railings, even if there is no balcony! After Covid, city dwellers are spending more and more time at home, particularly thanks to teleworking, and I wanted to offer a useful product that responds to these new lifestyles. I therefore decided to develop products for individuals by launching a new product for individuals in 2023: the Balconie,” he explains on his website. A model that has diversified this year by offering new sizes and new colors, making it totally irresistible.
